Trusses | Delivery | Price Quotes | Wall Panels | General

Trusses:
Q:  What length can cold formed steel trusses span?

A.  As a general rule, 80 feet is max. Even knowing this, this may not apply to your current or potential project. There is a number of factors that determine this information and a design of the truss in question is required to determine with certainty the extent of the clear span. Note: Adding internal bearing helps cut down on the weight, and price of the trusses.

Q:  Who can install this product on my job?

A.  SSC can install cold formed steel trusses, we also offer supply and install services for metal deck.

Q:  How do you attach trusses to the walls?

A.  SSC designs and provides truss to bearing connection details for each specific job.

Q:  Can I modify the trusses on the jobsite?

A.  Prior to any modifications to the trusses on the job-site, SSC will supply a repair detail sealed by an engineer. This is necessary prior to any modifications to keep any truss warranty from being voided.

A.  SSC will unload the truck when we are also installing the trusses, otherwise we will coordinate our delivery with the installation contractor to ensure timely unloading and installation.

Q:  Should someone be present when trusses or wall panels are delivered?

A.  Yes, a contractor representative should be present during unloading of trusses.  If SSC is installing the trusses, we will also provide the labor and equipment to unload our trucks.

Q:  What is your lead-time for delivery of trusses?

A.  Normally, we require a minimum of 4-6 weeks lead-time from receipt of contract AND a new and full set of blueprints. We ask that a new set of plans be made available to us for us to ensure that all pertainant information relating to our trusses and wall panels is viewed and taken into consideration when we re-design and seal the approval drawings.
